Approved Inspectors Ltd is one of the largest Building Regulation Specialists in the UK, with over 50 employees operating from four offices and dealing with over 6000 new projects each year. Our Assistant Surveyors work closely with regional teams, supporting the day to day operations of the office. Main duties include:

• Supervised plan vetting and site inspections
• Assisting with business development, networking and marketing
• Ensuring existing client retention and building new relationships
• Ensuring all company processes are adhered to

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a motivated team player with a focus on service excellence and customer satisfaction.  You will have a keen interest in the construction industry and pursuing a career in building control.  You’ll be responsible for managing your own workload to complete your tasks.  Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.  A full driving license is essential, as is use of your own vehicle.

The role is based at our West Midlands Office and will cover the Birmingham area.

The position is 37.5 hours per week, worked Monday – Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm.

From April – September 2025 we are trialing a 33.75 hour working week (Monday – Thursday 9.00am – 5.00pm, Friday 9.00am – 12.45pm) which the successful applicant would be eligible to partake in (salary will be unaffected).

Salary and Benefits

Successful candidates will be offered a competitive package relevant to their experience and abilities between £26,000 – £32,000.   The NVQ qualification is fully funded.
