Approved Inspectors Ltd are a Registered Building Control Approver (RBCA) with offices in Lancashire, Cheshire, Manchester and the Midlands. We provide a regulatory service for clients undertaking a range of building work from small domestic extensions through to large commercial building schemes.
An exciting entry level Assistant Surveyor opportunity is available at our Manchester Office. Our Assistant Surveyors work closely with regional teams, supporting the day to day operations of the office. Main duties include:
- Supervised plan vetting and site inspections
- Assisting with business development, networking and marketing
- Ensuring existing client retention and building new relationships
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a motivated team player with a focus on service excellence and customer satisfaction. You will have a keen interest in the construction industry and pursuing a career in building control. You’ll be responsible for managing your own workload to complete your tasks. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. A full driving license is essential, as is use of your own vehicle.
The role is based at our Manchester Office and will cover the West Manchester area.
Salary and Benefits
Successful candidates will be offered a competitive package relevant to their experience and abilities with salaries starting at £26,000. The NVQ qualification is fully funded.
To enable a better work life balance for our employees our full time working week is shorter than most at 33.75 hours per week, worked Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm and Friday from 9am to 12.45pm.
Our full-time employees are entitled to 37.5 days annual leave (eight days to be reserved for the Company’s Christmas shut down and 7.5 days to be reserved for bank/public holidays).
Our employees also benefit from private medical insurance, a death in service life assurance scheme and a sick pay policy (one-month full pay and one month half pay during each 12-month rolling period).
You will have a mileage allowance option of either:
- a mileage rate of 45p/mile (first 10,000 miles, 25p/mile thereafter) with no additional car allowance or
- a mileage rate of 20p/mile plus car allowance of £300 per month (£3600 per annum) which will be paid at the same time as your basic salary (and subject to the usual deductions).
